Jerk At Play

So I was out with the one of the women that hold me down, one of the dudes in the crew and two other women, one of which was E.T. They called me and I wasn't doing anything but masterbating. So I washed my hands and hit the streets. And I had on the above t-shirt. It's not the most politically correct or sensitive shirt, but it's what I put on after work.

Now, the offensive nature of the shirt wasn't on my mind as I sat at the bar next to two single women. Actually I forgot I had it on. Then I wasn't allowed to forget.

Fate sat me next to a divorce lawyer. A thirty-one year old Black woman, single mother at 19 who still managed to finish undergrad and law school in the regularly allotted time period with honors. She let me know how offensive she found my shirt on about a hundred different levels. I told her it was just a shirt. She told me it wasn't. Me? I kept drinking.

And I still support single moms.

Well, as a single mother, I find the shirt only mildly offensive. Why? Because so many single mom's have used that as an excuse to strip. It's either that or their putting themselves through school. So, I can see the humor in the shirt.

However...

I would have given you shit about the shirt, too. But, I wouldn't have held it against you. I would have just said something equally as ignorant giving you an example of what my shirt would say...

Something like, "I support men with dreds". My shirt would have had a picture with a 2 inch dick next to a 12 inch ruler...LOL!

Stereotyping at it's best!

Love you Zeddie!

@Dyna
She gave me shit for awhile and then it was cool (I guess). Her homegirl cooled it out.

FYI my dick is 2.5 inches! I want all my credit!!!

well those sound like the kinda women you need to be dating...

i'm just saying they sound like they got some ambition...

i like strippers, know strippers and recently visited a strip club, i don't pass judgement on what people do...but i must say i am judging you for having and wearing that shirt!

First, Happy New Year. Second.

It's JUST A SHIRT. I've seen worse. Hey at least they are making an honest living and as long as there's a pole, and they got a place to spin, you have something to do on Friday nights.

Whoops, that may have been a little too much.

Oh, well.

I'm a single mother, and like Dynasty, I'm slightly offended, cause I know I've never stripped or lived off of the welfare system just cause I'm a single mother. People who choose to do that, to each it's own...But hell yea, I would've gave you shyt about it just cause, too. You know, to see how good our debate would've gotten. LOL

But I would've shook it off like, whateva man. LMAO

As usual, I really don't see a bit of harm in the shirt whatsoever. We all know there are plenty of single moms who strip..and yes its their choice. If you are a single mom and don't strip, why are you offended? The shirt isn't talking about you now is it.

When I opened your blog and saw the shirt I laughed really loudly. Is it offensive? yeah probably but it's funny.

I have mixed emotions. Straight though it is offensive. The thing is some of those women are not single moms. Some are married. Some are college students.

I have to say I don't agree with stripping that is my own opinion.

Why couldn't if have said i love single stripping moms.

I've been a single mom; I've never stripped (in public for cash).

I laughed at the shirt. But I would have used it as a reason to debate/flirt.

We all hustle in our own way.
Said shirt is FUNNY, and yes I am a single mom, have been forever and she is just uptight.
Hope u hit that.
LMAO, better yet, hope u got a date lined up with her and take her to a buffet at a strip club.

Many feel that the 'strip club'/ rap video is misogynist. I might chuckle at the shirt, but I would feel that it is in bad taste.

Seriously, it's just a shirt.

its just a shirt keep it movin...I've always been fascinated by strippers I think it takes a lot of guts to do what they do whether its to pay the bills or for some xtra cash its their life and not mine.

Damn, people need to lighten the hell up! any woman with the sense God gave a flea knows that people single mothers have options besides stripping - and what the eff ever!

I wish I could be a stripper! But who wants to see a 39 year old chick with a belly flap on a pole!

Heh. I would have given you shit as well and I am not even a single mother, but I was raised by one.

@Miss Ahmad
My thing was like "Where the hell have you been for 1.5 years?" Yeah, she was bangin', like Little Rock in '96.

I don't have a problem with strippers per se (I do have a little naked women fetish) but I am cheap. So I never go to strip clubs. Not ever. Nice work if you can get it, though.

The contribution to the lingerie industry has been remarkable.

@Robyn
My African! Even if you don't get no bigga!

@Isha
Voice of reason! Thanks mama and Happy New Year!

@Syn
I was completely unprepared to defend the shirt. I was off my square, so to speak.

Yeah, it's offensive. Any more offensive than a Bush/Cheney '04 shirt or I (heart) Kenny G? I don't think so.

@Beauty
See the thing I didn't get is the intimation that all single moms strip. It did imply all strippers were single moms though. Which is offensive but probably pretty close to the truth.

@Honest
Most funny shit is a little offensive, isn't it?

@Anon
If it was up to me, the shirt would say "I Love Black Pussy", but I do have to show a little decorum.

@Remnants
I think she just wanted a place to sit. And since I had a face...

@Curvy
I don't trust strip club buffets. I'd hate to have a stray pubic hair in my chicken wings.

@Sherri
I agree it's in bad taste. Honestly I'd only wore it outside once before. But, I wore it so I had to defend it.

@Chele
Chele! I'm surprised you came down on my side of the argument. Good deal!

@GG
Naked women are FAN-FUCKIN'-TASTIC in general.

@Angie
I'm just pro naked. Whatever it look like.

@Miz JJ
You know it's all love!

I find the shirt funny...I'm a single mom and I have never danced on a pole...although I am thinking of putting one in my bedroom *snicker*
